Guru Har Rai was born on January 31, 1630, to Nihal Kaur and Baba Gurditta. Baba Gurdita was the son of the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind. He married Mata Kishan Kaur (sometimes also referred to as Sulakhni Ji), the daughter of Daya Ram of Anoopshahr (Bulandshahr) in Utter Pradesh and they had two sons: Baba Ram Rai and Har Krishan.
